One year older, one year wiser?

On my 19th birthday,

It was a sunny, smiley day. haaaa~

If only we can have such sunshine days always.

My auntie has the same birthday as meee!!

A little joyous celebration in the evening! :)

At first i felt a little downhearted because when the clock striked 12am..
i didn't receive birthday wishes from the friends who are dearest to me :(
Instead, i recieved some of the first few from some friends whom i wasn't that close with.
i was consoling myself..
"Its oky la. They must be busy studying for their papers.."
Little did i know that,
everything was a SUGARY CONSPIRACY.


So on that fateful night, I was supposed to meet 2 Ohanies only.
GUOLIAN was to lure me from Clementi to their secret hiding place
which was at the playground out of nowhere?

*i melted when i saw this..*

There i saw my dear ANGIE and YY shielding the candle flames from the wind..
(i hope you all didnt burn your fingers leh!)

and suddenly, out popped FELFEL and she gave me a Hug Attack!!
ZHIWEI was actually filming the entire process!

it's like i was living in a dream, you know?
Like in TV serials, the girl will follow a trail of flower petals...
and then she'll see something unexpectedly magnificent at the end!
Probably expected to hear something like, "Will you marry me?"
from her boyfriend maybe.
ahhaha. =p


but for my case, it's a little different but no less sweeter!
Because I was greeted with my best friends not boyfriend :D
this is the nicest thing that has ever happened to me, really.
they leave me speechless, so speechless~


Not long after, Maxie descended with a heavenly chocolate cake from Awfully Chocolate!



Aiyo. He shouldn't have, seriously!! It must have costed him a big bomb.
In my whole life, i never had a cake with my name on it, and this year..
I'm happy to receive one but i'm even happier because i got to share it with my beloved friends!

We caught 2012 in the evening!
Ahem. Let's just do a short and sweet case study :P

1) Adrian managed to express his feelings to his father in time.
(That scene was really touching.)

2) His father's friend, did not manage to do so because by the time his son picked up the phonecall, disaster has striked..

3) The family of four hugged one another tightly as they faced their impending doom.

4) The rich Russian man, despite meaning cruelly selfish to others, sacrificed himself for the sake of his 2 children at last.

5) The Jackson's family, after experiencing a tumultuous time, managed to escape unscathed as they stood together as one!

"Love is not a noun, it's a verb."


I saw this from somewhere de! haha.
I realise the movie portrays quite abit on kinship.
After watching the movie, i see that
some people can go through life without expressing their love at all,
to the ones dearest to them.
Or that they were too late to do so..
It's always this vicious cycle-
Loss, Regret, Cherish.


i've also learnt that in the end,
all the wealth in the world can't even buy a moment of life.


Unexpectedly, the movie was quite moving at some parts.
i thought it'll be all action-packed and breath-taking.
Did you shed a tear or two? It isn't a crime to cry.

After some great movies,
there must be some lessons learnt/takeaway/thoughts running in our minds, yes?
but often, they just come and go, which we tend to forget.
no good no good!
so perhaps blogging is a good to way to capture those thoughts of yours~ ;D

It's always sunshine after the rain.

I feel good! dadadadadadaDA.
yesterday i went to Bugis with Ganma and family!
and it was our first time visiting the National Library (NLB)
So gu right? - _ -"
Ohmy, the library was veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
BIG with at least 6 levels!
but we only stayed at Level One cos we were afraid of heights..
haha jkjk, think we were a tad too lazy?

Library is one of the favourite places i love to visit!


There's also this special Sunshine Bakery located nearby,
that sells tasty bread and pastries and...
it even has a seating area for us to sit, which makes it special!
In the midst of enjoying a cup of aromatic coffee and appetizing foodies,
you can read a book.. have a small chit-chat.. spend some time with your family or friends~
which was what i literally did. yay!
it's a humble place and the ambience is rather serene and warm.
Though it isn't those atas atas kind of place,
i think that simplicity can be a luxury too. :)


The air now is really fresh and balmy because the rain just ceased..
*breathes in greedily*
it's always sunshine after the rain.

Touched.

For the whole day, i didn't touch the lappy for my Sissy brought it out.
Instead, i was touched by Her little actions just now..


Today, i went out with Granny for the very first time
ever since i dont know when?
(sighhh. sounds pathetic i know..)
She was all set to go while i was still preparing,
and she told me,


"慈啊, 我先下去等你 hor!"


i wondered why she didn't wait for me.
Not until i found out that it was
due to her weak legs, she'd walk really painstakingly and slowly.
Often, she will stop for a while then walk..
stop for a while then walk again.
i can't believe she went down about half an hour earlier,
just because she was afraid to let me wait for her to finish the distance
from our house to a bus stop near our house.
Each step was a burden to her. And she didn't want to burden me.
:(


On our way back,
as i was anxiously trying to help my Granny..
Clumsy me tripped over the trolly with 20kg of rice in it.
The impact was really great and it was so painful that i almost cried.
Then i suddenly remember the taxi driver say,
“你的孙女很乖。”
Somehow, i forgot all about the pain le! wahahha.

Booo.. now i got a baluku on my right leg :(
but it's worth it anyway! haha.



p.s. i promise to make a cup of hot chocolate for her, every night before she sleeps!

Blonde me finally understood the movie's title.
As to why the word 'Keeper' was used.. hehe.
Serene, thought-provoking, tear-jerking movie.
Superb acting skills by Cameron Diaz!

i suppose very often,
we overlook the sheer fortune of just being alive.
(Perhaps you think not, but you are already here on Earth mah! Haha.)
Sometimes, we lament over the earthly lives we lead
and get troubled about how things should be, how things could be..
Maybe we should begin to notice
and treasure the things that already are!
That'll be nice.

All right, let's just go back to basics..
I think that we're already very lucky people,
blessed with a healthy, disease-free and able body.
We are spared from the clutches of the hospital,
painful injections, awful medication.

We are not bald and have abundance of hair on our heads,
(Sigh, especially for my case. like Momo monster!)
We can go to the beach or have a picnic out in the greens whenever we want to,
Also importantly, our family members and friends are all sound and well.

Aren't we fortunate?
If yes, let's start counting our blessings today..
One by one.

During lunch, although the table was a little squeezy and small,
i felt delighted for we finally ate on a round table for the very first time.
it just feels like a family to me! heheh.
i like.

On the way to Guolian's homey,
Luckily we didnt bang into CHABA or CHAMA ah..
hahahha!
We shouldn't overlook the beauty of Mother Nature too.
