Do i love Life, or just my Life?

First and foremost,
thanks Wu Guolian for the shockingly syrupy surprise on Saturday!!

(Picture removed due to privacy issues :P)

Never thought you'll cancel tuition just to join us in this :D
More exhibitions for you next time since you like~

We went for the
Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (ACRES) Exhibition,
and wow, what an eye-opening experience for us :(

Every day, the CHOICE you make when you head to the shops or go out for a meal can have a huge negative impact on animals. There is HIDDEN CRUELTY behind so many products, and a lot of what we buy cause enormous SUFFERING for the creatures who share our plant.

For the sake if a dish, a face cream, a detergent or a handbag, many animals are denied even their basic needs- to move, socialize, play, run, scratch in the earth, feel the sun or nurture their young. For human convenience, PROFIT and PLEASURE, they are imprisoned, confined, beaten, branded, tortured, mutilated and killed.

Because most of this cruelty happens BEHIND CLOSED DOORS of factory farms and laboratories, we tend to think WE ARE NOT DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE. BUT WE ARE. As the final consumers, the people who create the DEMAND and PAY for the fruits of animal exploitation, we are very much RESPONSIBLE.

But we can CHOOSE not to be. All of us have within ourselves the ability to relate to other living things with COMPASSION. We can CHOOSE to be KIND instead of cruel. We can CHOOSE to be non-violent. And we can make animal cruelty-free CHOICES about what we EAT, WEAR and BUY that will have a positive impact on animals.

Because we are kind, never belittle our daily actions that can save lives.
:)

I've been so ignorant.

Because I'm human,
I can never experience the kind of suffering they are going through..

Because I'm human,
I admit that I still have some selfish desires
which has been with me for near twenty years.

If they had a choice, had a voice,
i am absolute that they'd surely choose to be in the arms of Mother Nature,
instead of becoming some
lovely leather, being great testers, or appearing on my delicious platter..

Luckily now that i have a choice, I'm learning to choose compassion.

Sad things aside,
We had a..
Terrific teabreak @ Selegie beancurd place,
Delicious dinner @ Loving Hut,
Sweet treat @ Tom's Palette!!
Where we met Jingyi too for awhile too :)

You know what?

My friends are so supportive.
During Ohana Fun Dance..
At least they weren't just sitting down and watching,
no matter how reluctant one may feel.
During the vegetarian steamboat..
At least they were willing to give it a try without a whine,
even though the food may not be as nice.

What more can i ask for?
I love Ohana.

There they are! :)

Going Green with Lovely Jane~

It seemed to me that last weekend just whizzed past in lightning speed!
Right afte
r Ohana Day, was Baking Day in preparation for Jingyi's 21st :)
Everything went wonderfully in the end.. WHEEE~
It was such a touching scene at her birthday..
when she read a letter dedicated to her family and friends.
This is probably the first time I've seen the outburst of emotions,
together with the joy & tears so genuine and true.
To the extend that I was moved too. Awww jingyi.. :')
And then on the actual day.. Zhiwei and i went to her house to surprise her :P
Success! Wahahha high five man.

I wonder how our 21st birthday will be like?

Psst..
Thanks
Guolian for the hotcakes! :O
Thanks Zhiwei for the prata seh! :D
Thanks Jingyi for the yoghurt ah! :P

Why? Because on that day, i forgot to bring my wallet - _ -
Hahaha. I miss you you you & you!

My family of friends.

Though it was a simple and short affair today..
I hope we'll still celebrate Ohana Day no matter what okay :)
Love you!

Inevitably in our lives, there'll be ups and downs..

But thank goodness, our friends balance it all out.
:)

Happy Teacher's Day, indeed! (edited)

This is my first ever Teacher's Day Celebration as a teacher, and not a child.
The feeling's just novel and nice. Hohoho..
The presents from the children really make me go over the moon and stars!
Though the words they write may not be as beautiful,
it's their thoughts that are beautiful!

Written straight from their clean little hearts to express their thanks to their teachers, just like what we did when we were young :) ..

Just one word to describe..
"Awwwwwwwwwwww."
They can be such angels and devils at times ah!
LOVE-HATE, LOVE-HATE, LOVE-HATE.
But love still comes before the word hate :P

How i wish the child in them will not go away even as time passes by.
Last but not least, i thank Angie for sharing my joy that night!

p.s. Where's your inner child? :)

Weekends spent worthwhile.

Last Thursday, was the official YOG Closing Ceremony!
We're so glad we witnessed history. Once in our lifetime.
Are you proud to have Singapore blood flowing in your body?
I can firmly say that, i am. It can be so fun waving madly and bidding goodbye to the athletes, regardless of our skin colours, cultural differences or languages.
For a moment at the event, I felt as if everyone in the stadium were just one.

One thing is for sure:
Kindness is a universal language that transcends all boundaries.
People can feel it
:)

Special thanks to my...

Hee. My weekend was a blast with Zhiwei, Angie and Jingyi!
Woohoo~ So on Saturday night after class, we went to see YY for the last time (CHOY!!) before he left for Thailand. Please come back, safe & sound.

Then was a really HOT stayover watching 最火搭档 at Zhiwei's house!
Wahaha see im helping you advertise leh :P
And then after watching some episodes until 430am,
the 3 little pigs snuggled into bed! (^oo^)
(Ideally speaking, there should be 2 other piggies called Felicia and Guolian.)

*cockerel cries*
We went for another youth gathering where we gained more insights about wisdom :) Well, I thought the knowledge was quite useful and applicable in our daily lives. At night, the 3 little pigs had some special spaghetti at Jingyi's house! And we had truckloads of fun roaring/bombing/scaring the 2 cute little sisters~ :O Muahahah. Ohyes, we learnt about _ _ _ _ _ too.
It was rather intriguing man!

No lian :(

"Any word or action we speak or do,
no matter right or wrong,
will come back to you someday."
No wonder there's a saying that goes
"What goes around comes around."
Ever had such experience before? You're your own evidence.
:)

p.s.
Physically drained, spiritually enriched.
Oosh! Thank you.

Discoveries.

Last Friday, i met Lian at JE for awhile
before meeting Annoying Apple!
Ohyes and not forgetting Shanshan 公主!
We had CHEESE FONDUE~~
Ohmy it was really good,
just that the OniOn rings were abit orh orh,
and then and then, followed by a
super spontaneous stayover at Angie's abode!!

People, please remember to fold your blankets after you're awake.
It's a good start for a good day!
Even though you might probably think it's pointless..
let's just make it a habit to make our beds ba :D
Then we had a really EGG-citing morning man!
Fixing some french toast and eggs ;D

Thanks to Jingyi and Angie
for introducing me to the joy of baking.
Feels like fun!!

Waiting for our dough-lings...

Who ate my 扁扁的 bread? Better own up :P

We're the bakers of our own bread,
as well as the makers of our own lives, isn't it?

Ocean Heaven.

Recently.. I went to watch Ocean Heaven with my ganma and family.
It's a movie about fatherly love, a melancholic kind of love.. :(

Overall, the storyline's really simple and predictable.
However, the quintessential kind of innocence and unconditional love,
(which can be a rare find in present society) is vividly depicted in the movie!

Just in case you don't know,
this movie is Jet Li's debut in acting as a gentle and non-fighting character,
as a kind and loving father.

Most importantly, he acted for free. Not for money, not for fame.

The purpose is to create an awareness to the world that,
children with mental disabilities have equal rights
to be respected and to be loved, just like we do.

I admire him, alot.
Do catch it with your family! It'd be all worth it.

THANKS FOR YOUR TIME!
To care, to be there, to share.. :)

p.s.
I realised that open communication is one of the keys
to unlocking the truest feelings in your hearts and mine.
Communication is a two-way kind of thing, not one.
Believe me. I'm trying.

Meaning in mundaneness.

"Planning is bringing the future into the present so that you can do something about it now."

~Alan Lakein

"Clear, written goals have a wonderful effect on your thinking. They motivate you and galvanize you into action. They stimulate your creativity, release your energy, and help you to overcome procrastination as much as any other factor."

~Brian Tracy

Ohmy.
I especially love this Inspirational Quote and Thought Of The Day from yesterday.
I just felt the burning need to share this with you
because it struck something in me.

What's the one goal you have in mind right now? Just one will do.
I think it really gives us direction and drive in our daily lives.

Talking about yesterday,
I had a Dessert Day with Jingyi!! Wahahha.
We had Yami Yoghurt and Berrylite, both are yummy yummy :D'
Berrylite has this Choco Mint flavour yoghurt seh~ So special.
And it claimed itself to be 100% Fat-Free, Taste of Happiness.
Now im developing a strange and strong liking for yoghurt already..
Is it because of Angie and Jingyi? Ehehhe.

Now 幸福 is sinful, not!
