thanks Wu Guolian for the shockingly syrupy surprise on Saturday!!
Never thought you'll cancel tuition just to join us in this :D
More exhibitions for you next time since you like~
We went for the
Animal Concerns Research and Education Society (ACRES) Exhibition,
and wow, what an eye-opening experience for us :(
Every day, the CHOICE you make when you head to the shops or go out for a meal can have a huge negative impact on animals. There is HIDDEN CRUELTY behind so many products, and a lot of what we buy cause enormous SUFFERING for the creatures who share our plant.
For the sake if a dish, a face cream, a detergent or a handbag, many animals are denied even their basic needs- to move, socialize, play, run, scratch in the earth, feel the sun or nurture their young. For human convenience, PROFIT and PLEASURE, they are imprisoned, confined, beaten, branded, tortured, mutilated and killed.
Because most of this cruelty happens BEHIND CLOSED DOORS of factory farms and laboratories, we tend to think WE ARE NOT DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE. BUT WE ARE. As the final consumers, the people who create the DEMAND and PAY for the fruits of animal exploitation, we are very much RESPONSIBLE.
But we can CHOOSE not to be. All of us have within ourselves the ability to relate to other living things with COMPASSION. We can CHOOSE to be KIND instead of cruel. We can CHOOSE to be non-violent. And we can make animal cruelty-free CHOICES about what we EAT, WEAR and BUY that will have a positive impact on animals.
Because we are kind, never belittle our daily actions that can save lives.
:)
Because I'm human,
I can never experience the kind of suffering they are going through..
Because I'm human,
I admit that I still have some selfish desires
which has been with me for near twenty years.
If they had a choice, had a voice,
i am absolute that they'd surely choose to be in the arms of Mother Nature,
instead of becoming some
lovely leather, being great testers, or appearing on my delicious platter..
Luckily now that i have a choice, I'm learning to choose compassion.
We had a..
Terrific teabreak @ Selegie beancurd place,
Delicious dinner @ Loving Hut,
Sweet treat @ Tom's Palette!!
Where we met Jingyi too for awhile too :)
