If you may.. Would like to share with you a little personal achievement that I'm rather proud of..! Haha. Finally after a year or so, I memorized the entire 弟子规. (You must be wondering, wah this YC is so slow! I must be more efficient next time le.) This entire book consists of the many words of wisdom by Confucius. It encompasses the most fundamental and the most practical knowledge which I can apply to my daily life. Contrary to popular belief, it's not a book for only children. You may be surprised that even adults like you and me has much room for improvement?
I must admit this is one of the main contributing factors that somewhat impacted and changed my life, in terms of thoughts, speech and action perhaps? I guess I trust the truth more than i trust myself ba :)
To me, he has left behind an infinite inheritance of some of the most valuable cultural assets waiting for humanity to uncover.
I have to say that there are also numerous people, saints and sages or even Higher Beings out there whom we can look up to. And definitely not just Confucius. As for me, I choose to learn from him :)
Nevertheless, I'm always open to other ideologies or what may be deemed as the universal truth, because I love to learn..!
I thank you Confucius. And thank YOU for your patience, for reading till here wor!
*model pose* :P We went for our photoshoot for the Public Servant Card!
We munched @ VeganBurg! I can't believed we ate and chatted for a good 2 hours? Time seems to whizz by swiftly when you enjoy something greatly. Hehe. Come to think of it, it's been a long long time since we did that.. :) Let's bring Ohana there some day! As we mature, perhaps we begin to delve deeper into our own and other people's hearts. And as naturally as it seems, it takes time. Be it a month, a year or even years.. I guess we can only do it with bona fide love and concern. Because we're still learning.. :)
And it's all thanks to Maxie for the tickets please,
without it we wouldn't have enjoyed so greatly.
After being released from the respective Girls' or Boys' Home..
We jump for joy! Wahaha.

Ohana is like a bunch of bananas. Always seen together, full of sunshine and laughter. Sometimes we even behave like monkeys! Don't you think? Cheerios, for the good time today ;D
Project Felicia-Success! Don't know why i felt rather touched when i saw all of us working on the scrapbook.. Thanks to Angie's great idea. That scrapbook, made with love by all of us :)
Many great talents were uncovered man! There we saw.. Angie's delicate and sweet little pinky birthday card. Guolian's nicely, carefully handwritten message. Maxie's painstaking effort in making the bling bling birthday card. Yuyuan's flair for drawing the cute cute characters. Zirui's astonishing origami skills in folding the hearts, frogs, clothes. Ohana certainly has many hidden stars within ah =D Reveal yourself now! Wahaha. Looking forward to Zhiwei's highly anticipated birthday video for Fel~
I'm sure we also wanna thank Zirui's papa for sending us there!! Your father is really really very kind. Volunteering to fetch us to and fro. Really thanks and sorry for the trouble hor Zirui.
You guys made Felicia's birthday exceptionally beautiful! And i'm sure she'll agree with that. 我们好幸福。 :)
Firstly, I'm really sorry for the meagre updates. Been really busy recently with school work & workshops. Thanks buddies for showing concern by asking for my blog addy :) Blog's alive again with a new stroke of simplicity hehe..
This week has been an eventful and enriching week for me.
On Monday, I gave the first ever talk to the Primary One parents in my life - Cultivating the Love of Reading in Your Child. When Amy Jie asked me to be the co-speaker together with her, I was a little reluctant but then, on the other hand, I wanted to expose myself to new experiences in order to learn so i took it up anyway! I really believe that only by leaving my comfort zone can I really learn and benefit. Whew. After much preparation, I managed to deliver the speech smoothly! (Psst.. I stumbled a little at the end hahaha diulian~) But it's an achievement for me, even if it may not seem big.. :)
This video actually made some parents tear..
Watch if you have time :)
I had a realization in the next 2 days.. That I fluctuate between the old and new me. In the past, I was the one who'd often take the back seat, a rather held-back person who doesn't dare to speak up. There I saw her on Wednesday.. :(
During the workshop, we had group work and each group was to send a representative to present in front of all the teachers. My group.. I would say was less proactive and we waited and waited until it was the last group. Guess what? No one wanted to present! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.. I don't know why I was really afraid then but left without a choice I hardened my scalp (硬着头皮) and went up, ill-prepared accompanied with a lack of confidence.. Then I stood speaking nervously, probably even spoke with grammatical errors in my sentence.. Instantly felt like a fool man :(
On Thursday and Friday, we had another workshop. Told myself that I wouldn't be like yesterday, no way! I have to learn to speak more confidently in front of an audience. Brushed myself up and I managed to present more clearly than on Wednesday. My colleagues even praised me for that, and that I can improve each time i try! Confidence lost and found.. :) Thanks thanks thanks.

p.s. What a wacky weekend I had. Of birthday celebrations, of dance, of laughter.. Of friends :)
And it was a success. I feel a boulder off my shoulder. 那苦尽甘来的感觉..真好。
My gratitude goes to:
Angie for taking care of the children during the shoot at Chinatown
Felicia for your moral support at the shoot
Guolian for loaning your house for the shooting of Shou Sui
Jingyi for your encouragement during my stressful periods
Maxie for buying goodies for the children, you made them so happy
Mummy for your professional guidance and advice on the event
Yuyuan for playing the role of Daddy Doraemon
Zhiwei there's too much to thank you for that i don't know where to begin..
People. Really thank you for being there when I needed you. :)
My first time being assigned as the overall in-charge of such a large scale event.. I recall being only the audience for the past 20 years, sitting amongst rows and rows of children, talking and giggling waiting for the show to begin.
After 20 years, I get to experience the same thing over again, but with swapped roles, as a teacher instead. Wow. 20 years, 2 decades. Just two short words, it encapsulates our entire life journey till date. Look at how much we've grown. Amazing isn't it?
At first, narrow-minded me saw this opportunity as a chore. Then I realised it actually resonates with my new year resolution! Wow, what a coincidence. I wish to develop leadership qualities and here it is, to test me. To test me how much I want this goal.
Compliments were received.. Hehe. But still I feel there are many AFIs, many shortcomings! Through this, I have learnt a lot but there's so much more.
Before Zirui's birthday celebration, went to pay respects to my Gong Gong and also to 拜个早年. Actually looked forward to this day :) Granny woke at 530am just to cook up a spread of dishes for him.. While waiting, she told us about some stories from the WWII and i thought it was rather interesting leh!
小坡 = Bugis
大坡 = Chinatown
My granny and grannypappy will always go for movies at night on the last week of every month! So sweet right :P
When we were paying respects to Gong Gong, she actually asked me to pray for a paktor partner - _ - Wahaha why is everyone asking me about that! At this age, I think it's just natural for people to ask lol. 还是顺其自然吧 :) Really wish for her to be healthy and happy everyday.

The rain didn't dampen our spirits at all. What a wonderful time playing Bang, Giza and Murderer at Zirui's birthday chalet!
Thanks Angie & Maxie for lugging the games all the way from West to East ah..
Ultimate thanks to Zirui & family for inviting us over for this celebration man!
